Visit of H.B. Patriarch Gregorios III to Slovakia

As Spiritual Protector of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, H.B. Patriarch Gregorios III was invited to Bratislava, Slovakia (27-30 May 2011.)

On 27 May he was welcomed by the Mayor of Bratislava, Dr. Milan Ft??nik. He then gave a talk: the Greek Catholic Church and Peace. The future is meeting, trusting and building bridges in a divided world.
At 5: 30p.m. the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Bishop Peter Rusn?k of the Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Bratislava, with a Vigil for postulants to the Order of St. Lazarus. His Beatitude presided from the throne.
On 28 May, at 5p.m. the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. Martin by His Beatitude, together with Bishop Peter Rusn?k, Bishop Milan Chautur of Ko?ice and some twenty priests, during which the Ceremonial Investiture of the Order took place for Knights and Dames of the recently inaugurated Grand Bailiwick of Slovakia headed by Chev. Ing. Zdenek Tom??k, the Grand Priory of Hungary, the Grand Priory of Germany, and the Grand Bailiwick of the Czech Republic.

This was followed by a Gala Dinner in the Carlton Hotel.

On Sunday, 29 May, His Beatitude baptized the child Stella T?r?k, daughter of the Chancellor for the Slovak Jurisdiction, Chev. Norbert T?r?k.
At 10: 30a.m., His Beatitude celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Elevation of the Holy Cross, with its Bishop Peter Rusn?k concelebrating.
On 30 May, His Beatitude left Slovakia for Lebanon.

Visite de Sa Béatitude le Patriarche Gregorios III

en Slovaquie

       En sa qualité de Protecteur Spirituel de l'Ordre Militaire et Hospitalier de Saint-Lazare de Jérusalem, Sa Béatitude Gregorios III, Patriarche grec-melkite catrholique d'Antioche et de tout l'Orient, d'Alexandrie et de Jérusalem, a reçu et accepté une invitation à visiter Bratislava, capitale de la Slovaquie, du 27 au 30 mai 2011.
       Le 27 mai, le Patriarche a été accueilli par le Maire de Bratislava, Dr. Milan Ft??nik, puis a prononcé une causerie sur "L'Eglise Grecque-Melkite Catholique et la paix: l'avenir est dans la rencontre, la confiance et la construction de ponts dans un monde divisé".
       A 17 heures 30, en la Cathédrale grecque-catholique de l'Exaltation de la Sainte Croix, Sa Béatitude a présidé, au trône, la Divine Liturgie célébrée par S.E.R. Kyr Peter Rusn?k, Eparque grec-catholique de Bratislava, et suivie par une Vigile pour les postulants de l'Ordre de Saint-Lazare de Jérusalem.
       Le samedi 28 mai, à 17 heures, Sa Béatitude a célébré la Divine Liturgie en la Cathédrale métropolitaine latine de Saint-Martin; concélébraient LL.EE.RR. Kyr Peter Rusn?k et Kyr Milan Chautur, Eparque grec-catholique de Ko?ice, ainsi qu'une vingtaine de prêtres. Au cours de la célébration a eu lieu l'investiture liturgique dans l'Ordre de Saint-Lazare de Jérusalem de plusieurs Chevaliers et Dames du Grand Bailliage de Slovaquie (récemment créé et dont le Grand Bailli est le Chevalier Ingénieur Zdenek Tom?ik), ainsi que des Grands Prieurés de Hongrie et d'Allemagne et du Grand Bailliage de la République Tchèque.
       Suivit un dîner de gala à l'hôtel Carlton de la capitale.
       Le dimanche 29 mai, Sa Béatitude a baptisé la petite Stella T?r?k, fille du Chevalier Norbert T?r?k, Chancelier du Grand Bailliage de Slovaquie.
       Ensuite, le Patriarche a concélébré, avec S.E.R. Kyr Peter Rusn?k, la Divine Liturgie en la Cathédrale éparchiale de l'Exaltation de la Sainte-Croix.
       Le lundi 30 mai, Sa Béatitude a quitté la Slovaquie pour faire retour au Liban.
